Meet the New Principal!

Our final School Council meeting of the year will take place this coming Monday, June 9, 3:15 p.m. in the Library.  Our new principal will be coming around 4:00 p.m. to sit in on part of the meeting.  You are more than welcome to come and join us.  Child care is provided.  All you need to do is email barbwhite.cmessc@hotmail.com and let us know your children's names and ages.  Hope to see you there.

Also, a reminder of your two opportunities to come and find out what the leadership looks like on School Council and ask any questions your might have about participating in School Council. 
The two opportunities are:
Wednesday, June 11
2:10 p.m. in the Staff Room
7:00 p.m. in the Library

Both the Chair and Treasurer positions will need to be filled for next year.

School Council is hosting the Fun Dayfor the student who are not involved in Track & Field next Thursday, June 12.  We're looking for a few parent volunteers to help with the day.  Just email the above address and let us know of your interest.

Our May School Council meeting is happening this coming Monday, May 12, at 3:15 p.m.    If you'd be interested in coming and checking it out we would love to have you.

I had several of our Act 1 talents on the stage today showing them where they'll stand and gave them a chance to practice....ohhhhh.....you're going to have huge smile's on your face...they are so cute!  I've also been enjoying listening to a beautiful little grade 1 girl practicing on the piano in the front hall for the last couple of weeks...she sounds awesome...you'll be impressed!  Also got to see a pretty impressive Highland Dancer doing her Sword Dance....you have got to see this!

Upcoming Information

Here are some upcoming events and information that you need to know.

1. DFS Fundraiser comes to an end on Monday, March 31st.  Please return all order forms and money in the envelope provided in your package by Monday.  We have to get all the information into the company by the end of the week.  Thank you, again for your support in all our fundraising efforts.
2. Curriculum Night...being offered by the teachers of our school, will be happening on Thursday, April 10th.  A registration and information sheet was sent home on Thursday/Friday of this past week.  They are due back by Tuesday, April 1st.  YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS OUT on this awesome opportunity!

CMES Has Talent!

We are well underway in prepping for our 3rd annual celebration of talent at CMES.  
Date:  Thursday, May 1st
Time:  6:15 - 8:30 p.m.
What:  CMES Has Talent Show, Games room, Craft room, Snack Shack.
Cost:   FREE!  (Snacks will be available for a minimal cost that will go towards
                       supporting our Grade 8 graduation.)
We will be breaking up our talent show into two acts.  Act 1 will showcase our primary students and Act 2 will showcase our Junior & Intermediate students.  There will be a couple of teacher/staff acts mixed into both acts.  It's going to be a great night!  PLAN NOW TO COME AND CELEBRATE WITH US!

LATEST NEWS.............

1.  PARKING LOT REMINDER.....

1. Drive slowly on the lots,
2. Lookout for children walking,
3. Don't block the flow of traffic through both lots,
4. Allow room for the bus to travel through the main lot.
5. Always keep in mind that there must always be room for a Fire Truck to pass through if necessary.  Please do not leave your vehicle unattended.

For Your Consideration...........parents of grade 4's and up, arrivng after 3:05 p.m. and just have your children wait beside the fence for your arrival so that parents of kindergarten and primary students can get in to pick up their children right at 3:00 p.m.
   
 2.  FUN FOOD FRIDAY FORMS - Due, Thursday, February 6th.

     MOVIES IN THE MEADOWS Form - Due Tuesday, February 11th

3.  We collect CANADIAN TIRE MONEY to help purchase sports equipment, outdoor recess equipment and other odds and ends that may be needed.  There is a donation box in the front foyer next to  the office door.  Any little bit helps!

4.  With the amount of indoor recesses that we have experienced this year, our students are in great need of more NEW or gently used BOARD GAMES, CARD GAMES or ACTIVITIES that can keep them occupied during indoor recesses.  If you would like to donate either new or gently used (make sure the games have all the necessary pieces) to the school indoor recess supplies, please drop them off in the office at anytime.

CHRISTMAS IN THE MEADOWS REMINDERS....
Time: 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.
FOOD DRIVE / RAFFLE: For every food item you donate to the Food Drive you will recieve a ticket to put your name on and then you can put it in the bag of the raffle items you want. We have some great prizes this year...including 2 Play Passes for Jungle Oasis! Drop off will be in the front hall....Raffle tables will be in the gym.
PHOTO'S WITH SANTA: $5.00 per picture..includes a 5x7 Photo in a Christmas frame and the picture emailed to you for you to do what you want with it. You can sign up for a time slot beginning at 6:30 p.m. Picture taking will begin at 7:00 p.m. Photo's will Santa will be held in Mrs. Neal's (waiting room) & Mrs Popovic's (Photo room) classrooms.
CAROLLING CHOIR: In the gym. We have approximately 50 kids who will lead us in some fun, festive carols beginning at 6:45 approx. Children in the choir are encouarged to wear a Christmas type hat.
THE GRINCH: Mr V's class will be presenting their play "The Grinch" in the gym at 7:30 p.m.
BOOK FAIR: Will be happening in the library.
SANTA: Will arrive in the gym at approx. 6:35 to greet and mingle for a few moments before he heads down to the Photo Shop.
CHRISTMAS MOVIES: will take place in Mrs. Davis's resource room.
CRAFTS WITH THE ELVES: Will take place in Santa's Workshop (aka: Mrs. Borman's classroom)
COOKIES WITH MRS. CLAUS: Will take place in Mrs. T's room.
REFRESHMENTS: The drinks you pre-ordered & 2 Cookies will be available in the back of the gym.
