June 2013 Survey - RESULTS


Below you will find the basic results of our June 2013 School Council survey results.  We are endeavouring to take these results and find ways to improve the overall effectiveness of our School Council.

Every school in the Upper Grand District School Board is expected to have a school council.  The purpose of a School Council is to improve student achievement and enhance the accountability of the education system to parents. The current School Council meetings are held on the first Monday of the month in the library at 3:15.

Food Days, Fundraising, and Special Events
This year we offered the following options for food days: Pizza, Pasta, Hot Dog, Pita Pit, Popcorn, Cookie, Milk, Juice. Our fundraising initiatives were: Meet the Teacher BBQ, Food days, Dieleman Giftware, Vesey's Bulbs & Lovable Labels. We were proud to host three Special Events: Anxiety workshop for parents,  Christmas in the Meadows, Springtime in the Meadows.

WELCOME TO THE 2013 - 14 SCHOOL YEAR....IT'S GOING TO BE A GOOD ONE!

Welcome back to our returning families and welcome to our new families.

Through our blog we will endeavour to keep you up to date on what is happening with your school council as well as regular events and activities that happen throughout the year.  We hope you will find this communication tool helpful as you navigate your way through the coming school year.

We are just getting ourselves organized for the coming year, so keep checking in on us over the next few days as we will be adding new information that will be helpful for you to know.

School Council Recap

Thank you to all families for their generous support this year. Food days are our primary and most successful fundraiser. This year, food day profit was over $10,000. All other fundraisers (Dielmans, Grocery Tapes, Meet the Teacher Night and Veseys Bulbs) raised over $5000. With your support, through fundraising, school council was able to provide the following for our children's school:
