CMES Parent Walking Club
We begin our new Walking Club on Monday morning at 8:35 a.m. We'll meet in the front lobby and decide which way we'll head out. This is going to be a great way to get some exercise and meet some new people. Looking forward to seeing you on Monday morning!

Weekly Announcements April 24-27
SPRINGTIME IN THE MEADOWS...forms were due back this week. Thank you to the many families who sent theirs in. It's not too late to let us know you want to come. Bring in your form early in the week, next week or email barbwhite.cmessc@hotmail.com and tell us how many adults and how many children will be coming.
We are still in need of the following donations:
1. Nestle mini chocolate bars - peanut free.
2. 500ml empty water bottles for our craft.
Parents: If you have a student in grade 6 - 8 who would be interested in volunteering to help during Springtime in the Meadows on Thursday evening - please email the above address and let us know. We need carnival game booth operators and craft room leaders.
LITTERLESS LUNCH RESULTS...Thank you to all students and staff who participated. Here are the results...
Primary Division:

REMINDER: Every Monday is Litterless Lunch day (if not every day) and while Sunday was Earth Day, every day really should be!
We wished Mrs. Gallaugher a "Happy Office Administrator's Day" on Wednesday. We are so thankful for all that she does for us at CMES!

DO MORE WATCH LESS...Hey Credit Meadows, did you know that kids your age are spending way too much time in front of screens, which means they are being less active which of course isn't good for your health. Take the SCREEN FREE challenge from April 30th - May 6th and try other activities. You could win a $50.00 gift certificate from Booklore. Tracking sheets are available from your teacher or in the library.
We welcomed Mr. Logan Sheppard as PRINCIPAL FOR THE DAY on Friday, April 27th. Logan, from Mrs. H-T's class, won this special prize from our Boogie-a-thon! You did a GREAT job, Logan!
Intermediate Arts Day happened on Friday - what an amazing, creative day it was for our grade 7 & 8's! Thanks to all our creative guests who came and shared their talents! A magician, cartoonist, sculptor, drummer and silk-screener.
CLUBS
Silver Birch and Silver Birch Express did their voting on Friday.
BAKING CLUB met to begin preparing for the Snack Shack that will happen at Springtime In The Meadows. There will be some yummy treats available for only $1.00 each.
YEARBOOK CLUB continues to be creative! Don't forget - you can advertise in our yearbook for very reasonable rates!

Weekly Announcements April 16-20
PA DAY ON MONDAY, APRIL 23RD.
YEARBOOK CLUB is opening up their COVER PAGE CONTEST to ALL students this year! Entry forms are available in the office. Entries are due back on Monday, April 30th.
SPRINGTIME IN THE MEADOWS forms went home on Tuesday. Please fill yours out so that we know how many people to expect on THURSDAY, MAY 3RD. It's going to be a great evening. We have 35 acts performing in our CMES's Got Talent show. AMAZING ART WORK done during out Arts days in May will be on display. A fun springtime craft and fun carnival games tops it off. The Baking Club will be serving tasty treats for a dollar. We're looking forward to seeing you there!
COBRAS! Did you know that Sunday, April 22nd is EARTH DAY? The Green Machine is extending a challenge to the whole school. Pack a LITTERLESS LUNCH on Tuesday and use a re-usable water bottle too! Be the primary or junior/intermediate class with the best participation and your class will win a great prize!

SPORTS
Boys Basketball...WOW, WHAT A GAME! Congratulations to our boys basketball team for not only entertaining the fans with great turn-overs and fastbreak baskets but coming out with our first BIG win! Our boys know how to play "A" ball. Our opponent from Princess Margaret took a quick lead in the first quarter. Our cobras then sized up their competition and came back in a flurry with a very exciting back and forth scoring frenzy. Coaches are very proud of the strong determination of our Cobras.
Girls Basketball...was busy practicing this week.
CLUBS
Silverbirch Express met this week. Don't forget...voting takes place next week.
Yearbook Club met this week. We are now into our busy season of getting our yearbook done! If you are a parent with a business or know of someone who owns a business, our Yearbook is a GREAT PLACE TO ADVERTISE for a really reasonable price. Contact the office for more information!

We Need Your Help
Hello CMES Families!
Here are two ways you can help support a couple of things that are happening at our School in the next little while.
1. SPRINGTIME IN THE MEADOWS is asking for packages/boxes of Nestle Chocolate Bars (Peanut Free) as prizes for the carnival games that will be going on that evening. Drop off your donations to the School office by May 1st.
2. The Yearbook Club is looking for Businesses to advertise in this year's Yearbook. If you own a Business or know of someone who does, in the Orangeville area, and would consider putting in an Ad, please email Barb White at barbwhite.cmessc@hotmail.com. Ad prices are VERY reasonable! You can find the information in both the March and April newsletters.

Weekly Announcements April 10 -13
CMES's Got Talent Auditions happened Tuesday - Friday. WOW - do we have TALENT in our School! You can look forward to watching and hearing this talent on THURSDAY, MAY 3rd - 6:30 - 8:30 at our 1st Annual Springtime In The Meadows!
OUTDOOR STAGE is out of bounds to all students due to repairs that need to happen. Students will be notified when it will be available to use again.
SPORTS
HOCKEY...Mr. VanMaren is still waiting for a few more Hockey jersey's to be returned.
BASKETBALL
Congratulations to both the boys and girls basketball teams who did a
great job in their games this past week!
GIRLS TEAM...you will be practicing on Monday at lunch (15th).
CLUBS
Silver Birch and Silver Birch Express is busy reading!
Voting will be taking place in 2 weeks.

Announcements Week of April 2 - 5
CLIMBERS ...are officially open as long as the weather conditions have not made them slippery.
The LIBRARY welcomed Brianna White as "Librarian For The Day." The prize she won at the Boogie-a-thon!
CMES'S Got Talent AUDITIONS begin on Tuesday, April 10th. Check to see if your child has brought home an audition form which needs to have a parent signature.
A REMINDER... ELECTRONIC DEVICES...iPods, Cell Phones and Cameras ARE NOT to be used on the school yard. Texting and taking pictures at school is prohibited. Thank you for your support in this matter.
SPORTS NEWS
CONGRATULATIONS to our Cobras HOCKEY TEAM as they represented Credit Meadows VERY WELL at their tournament...WINNING the tournament and bringing home the trophy! WELL DONE COBRAS!!!!!
BOYS BASKETBALL... travelled to Island Lake for their first game of the season. An excellent effort was made by all players. They also had a home game against East Gary on Wednesday.
Special Note: Regular practices for the Boys Basketball team begin on Tuesday, April 10 with practices happening on Tuesday & Thursday mornings @ 7:30 a.m. and during 2nd recess @ 12:40 p.m. That's right - 4 practices per week!
GIRLS BASKETBALL...was busy practicing this week.
SIDELINE BASKETBALL...had several practices and then played in their first and only tournament on Wednesday and represented Credit Meadows VERY WELL! Great job on a great season - CONGRATULATIONS!
